Testing of mechanical properties of metal castings and forgings required by national standards GBT3808 and GBT229

There are generally two types of mechanical property testing for metal castings and forgings required by the national standards GB T3808 and gb t229. One is impact resistance testing and the other is tensile performance testing.

Impact resistance test:
Metal castings and forging materials will fracture when subjected to high impact forces. Impact resistance testing can not only test the impact resistance of the component, but also determine whether the selected material is suitable.

Use test equipment
The Charpy Pendulum Impact Tester is used to determine the impact resistance of metal materials under dynamic load at room temperature or low temperature in order to judge the properties of the material under dynamic load. The equipment is developed and produced in accordance with the national standard GB/T3808 "Pendulum Impact Tester" and meets the requirements of the national standard GB/T229 "Metal Charpy Notch Impact Test Method" for the impact test of metal materials. The control system adopts professional industrial control microcomputer control, touch screen operation and display test results, easy operation and high work efficiency. The testing machine has the functions of fully automatic fetching, placing, impact, sample delivery, data recording, etc., for metallurgical and mechanical manufacturing departments that perform a large number of continuous impact tests, it can better reflect its superiority. According to the performance of the material, you can choose the impact test equipment of different energy and structure such as 300J, 500J, 600J, 750J, etc.

Tensile performance testing
From the steel billet to the final forming is a time-consuming and high-quality production process, and the casting process is an economical and efficient method for processing complex-shaped parts. The casting method can directly produce finished or semi-finished products, thereby minimizing the amount of processing required. Similar to castings, forgings are usually irregular in shape. In many cases, standard samples taken from castings or forgings do not represent the characteristics of the entire part. Therefore, it is necessary to test the entire casting or forging. Due to the different shapes and sizes, it is difficult to clamp these parts, and high force is usually required during the test.

Use test equipment
In order to meet the test requirements of hot rolling, castings and forgings, CMT series electronic universal testing machines or WAW series microcomputer controlled electro-hydraulic servo universal testing machines are used metal tensile, compression, bending, shearing, peeling, tearing, load-holding and other static mechanical properties test analysis and research, with three control methods: stress control, strain control and displacement control. During the test, the three methods can be smoothly switched according to the set program, and ReH, ReL, Rp0.2, Fm can be automatically obtained , Rt0.5, Rt0.6, Rt0.65, Rt0.7, Rm, E and other test parameters, and can conduct mechanical testing and analysis according to international standards such as GB, ISO, DIN, ASTM, JIS; these loading frames can be equipped with various fixtures and extensometers used for testing standard specimens to produce accurate modulus and results. When testing a complete component, a customized fixture, T-slot test bench or special fixture can be configured on the loading frame to suit the shape of the test component. Fully understand and determine the specific application, test conditions and material characteristics to provide accurate fixture solutions to meet user needs.
